Embracing AI for Tax & Accounting Pros

1 Hour CE Federal Tax Webinar

Rebecca Driscoll

September 3, 2026, Noon-1 p.m.

Program Description

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how tax and accounting professionals research, prepare, review, and advise. This program gives practitioners a practical, vendor-neutral foundation for understanding and responsibly adopting AI tools in a tax and accounting practice. Participants will explore what generative AI and machine learning are, how these technologies work at a conceptual level, and where they add measurable value across the engagement lifecycle — from client intake and document handling to tax research, workpaper preparation, and client communication.

Through guided examples and real-world scenarios drawn from everyday practice, instructors Rebecca Driscoll and Charlie Barmore of The AI Lab for Accountants demonstrate how professionals can use AI to streamline routine workflows, improve accuracy, and free up time for higher-value advisory work. Equal attention is given to the risks and professional responsibilities that accompany these tools, including data privacy and client confidentiality, accuracy and verification of AI-generated output, bias and reliability limitations, and the ethical and due-diligence standards that continue to govern the practitioner regardless of the technology used. By the end of the session, participants will be equipped to evaluate AI tools critically and integrate them into their practice in a manner consistent with professional standards.
